***NEW SINGLE "ARPAIO BLUES" OUT NOW***
A STORY FROM TENT CITY AND ITS FEMALE CHAIN GANG IN MARICOPA CO., AZ
ARPAIO BLUES, Jen Maurer’s latest single, is an Americana story song about a girl stuck in Tent City (Maricopa Co, AZ), working one of the female chain gangs that Sheriff Joe Arpaio ran from 1996-2017. This song has a laid back, driving-the-desert-road vibe, with the gas pedal fueled by some killer dobro. Close, beautiful 3-part harmony. 70s classic Band feel.

It's hard to say if Jen Maurer is an "emerging artist" or a "transforming artist." She's been a NEOH musical standout for 30 years!
This vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter in known mostly for her work with Mo' Mojo, a Zydeco-based band with whom she has played nationally and internationally.
The pandemic forced Jen to do more solo work, and thus is born a new "emerging solo artist" with a solo album on the way. Her song writing earned her a 2024 “Individual Excellence Award” in musical composition from the Ohio Arts Council. The upcoming album will draw on the various Roots musics that Jen grew up with, and while labeled a "solo" album, her originals will feature harmonies, acoustic and electric guitars, fiddle, harmonica, banjo, electric bass, percussion, and drums.
